Today on Far Future Horizons we present Walt Disney Studio’s “Lost” UFO documentary Alien Encounters, a one hour documentary that aired only once, and with no advance notice on stations in only five US cities.

ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter

The broadcast of this documentary coincided with the opening of the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter (often abbreviated Alien Encounter) a "theater-in-the-round" attraction in the Tomorrowland section of the Magic Kingdom theme park at Walt Disney World Resort. It was a darkly humorous science-fiction experience that used binaural sound to achieve many of its effects. This attraction closed down in December, 2003.

This documentary along with its associated theme park attraction was mostly rooted in the pseudo-scientific lore and associated mythology of Ufology, such as alien abductions and alleged military and government cover-ups.

So when viewing this documentary do not expect to see any new revelations. Personally I hope this was Disney’s first and last foray into pseudoscience.
