EXPERIENCE THE FAMOUS RESTAURANT NOMA AT THE
MANDARIN ORIENTAL, TOKYO NEXT YEAR.
“A long lasting dream of mine has come to fruition: Restaurant Noma is moving to Japan”. While those may be the words of Chef RenĂ© Redzepi of Noma that went to being number one on The World’s Top 10 Restaurants of 2014, they may as well have come from anyone in Tokyo city. Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo is welcoming the award-winning Copenhagen restaurant from 9 to 31 January 2015. During this time, the hotel’s Michelin starred Signature restaurant (pictured above) will be completely transformed to house Noma and its culinary team.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Chef Redzepi and his talented colleagues who will make Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo their home in January 2015,” said General Manager, Anthony Costa. They sure must be because MO has created a special Lunch and a Dinner package that can be booked online starting 23 June 2014. Now, while the former means a taste of Noma’s philosophically interpreted cuisine, which will use seasonal, locally sourced Japanese ingredients and influences for the very first time, the latter is even more enticing.
Dinner at ‘Noma at Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo’ includes one night of accommodation in a Mandarin Grand Room, dinner at Noma on the night of stay, breakfast and a special commemorative gift. “It is a great honor and a unique opportunity to introduce the #1 ranked restaurant in the world to the culinary delights of Japan,” Costa added. The lunch is offered at JPY 39,000 (Euro 280) per person while the indulgent dinner is priced at JPY 149,500 (Euro 1075) for two and fifty will be privy to each lunch and dinner seating.
Even as those words escape my lips, or fingers rather, I realize what this means for the city dwellers, a reservation battle of the highest degree where the wounded may never recover from their omission in gastronomic history! Luckily, due to the limited number of seats available, Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo and Noma are also offering a waiting list for each lunch and dinner booking as soon as online reservations begin. Details are available on their websites. “Sayonara, from RenĂ© and the rest of Noma.”
